Row 01: first email
From: Tom, the client's founder, on a domain we set up
To: Operations director, electrical contractor in Bristol
Subject: your new coordinator
Hi first name,
Going by your ad from 22 September, your new service coordinator will be booking jobs in rival tool.
I make job scheduling software for UK contractors. It's easier to compare before someone new is trained on it.
Worth a one-page comparison before they start?
Tom
Replies, once it runs
Row 02 · Wrong person · Answered
“Not my area. Our service manager picks the software, so I've copied her in.”
Row 04 · Not now · Answered
“We renewed with them in the summer. Try us next year.”
Row 01 · Interested
“Yes, send it over. Our contract with them is up in January.”
Passed to Tom with the reason: the ad from 22 September and the January renewal.
Who do you sell to next?
Referrals come when they come. If you're about to hire a salesperson, it's the first question they'll ask you.
If you've tried cold email and got no replies, the first thing to check is who it went to.
The reason a company needs you is usually written down somewhere.
Often it's public, with a date on it. A company paying for something like yours already knows it has the problem, and the date tells you when to write.
New to you
- Job ad that names a competitor's tool
- Listed on a competitor's customer page
Already know you
- Bought from you before
- A deal you lost
- A prospect who went quiet
For people who already know you, the reason is in your CRM, which we only see once you sign.
Try it with what you sell.
See the first email your buyers would get. Type what you sell and who buys it. The blue parts are what we research for each company.
From: you, on a domain we set up
To: the person who'd buy, their company
Subject: two or three words about them
Hi first name,
The reason we found, with its date, in one line about them.
At your company, we sell what you sell to who buys it.
Worth a look for their company?
Who in your CRM hasn't heard from you this year?
We start with the people who already know you. Win-back goes out in week one, while the new domains warm up for cold email.
01
Past customers and lost deals
We write to people who bought before, deals you lost and prospects who went quiet. These emails go from your own inbox, at low volume.
02
Companies new to you
We look for the companies in your market most likely to need you now. First on the list are those paying your competitors, found in job ads and on competitors' customer pages. We write to the person who'd buy, in your name, and LinkedIn messages go to the same people.
03
Every reply answered
Questions, not-nows and no-thanks all get an answer from us. When someone's interested, they come to you with the reason their company needs you.
04
A report every Monday
For each campaign: people contacted, replies, positive replies, meetings booked and held, no-shows, opt-outs and the bounce rate. It quotes three replies word for word and says what we changed and what's next. Open rates aren't in it.
What we need from you: a kickoff call of 60 to 90 minutes, your CRM export and do-not-contact list. Then a yes on the first emails, and someone who answers interested replies within a day.
How it starts
Nothing is paid before step 04. The first three steps let you judge the work before you sign.
- 01
Tell us what you sell and who buys it. Your website is enough to start.
- 02
Get your free 20 within 24 hours: a sheet with one row per company, yours to keep whatever you decide.
- 03
Talk for 15 minutes, if you'd like to. We count the companies in your market together, live.
- 04
Sign, and we set up. Nothing goes out until you've approved the first emails.
What it costs
One plan, in US dollars. It covers everything above, and the only other charge is per meeting.
$2,000a month, invoiced monthly in advance
Plus $200 for each qualified meeting that takes place, invoiced with the next month.
In the contract
- First cold emails go out by day 21 after you sign.
- The activity in your scope: how many companies we add and how many people we contact each month.
- The Monday report, every week.
Miss any of these and that month's fee is free.
The terms
- A 90-day minimum, then month to month with 30 days' notice.
- No setup fee. We pay for the domains, inboxes and sending tools.
- If you leave, you keep the lists, the copy, the domains and the accounts, once all fees are paid.
What counts as a qualified meeting+
If you've paid for off-target meetings and no-shows before, here's the bar, in writing.
A call of at least 15 minutes with a decision-maker at a company that fits the customer profile written into your scope. Someone from your CRM export only counts if they've had no meeting or purchase in the last 6 months, and replied or booked after our campaign went out. You confirm each meeting within 2 business days, or give us calendar access. You have 2 business days to dispute one, and a no-show gets one free rebook.
You'd be working with me.
I'm Kristers Gabrāns, and I run TOLVEN from Latvia. On the kickoff call I'll ask about your five best customers and why they bought, because that decides who I look for.
I handle your replies: every question, not-now and no-thanks gets an answer, and the interested ones come to you with the reason their company needs you. If something isn't working, you'll hear it from me first, with what I'm changing.

Rather talk first?
Book 15 minutes with Kristers and tell him who you sell to. If outbound won't work in your market, he'll say so on the call.

Questions
Anything else? Email team@withtolven.co.
Do you guarantee meetings?+
No. How many people say yes depends on your market and your offer, and nobody can know that before the first emails go out. What we do promise is in the contract, listed under pricing.
Do you have case studies?+
Not yet. TOLVEN is new, so the work comes first. Your free 20 is the same research and writing you'd get once we start, and you can check every row yourself.
How is this different from other outbound agencies?+
You can judge us before any call. An example of the work, the full price and what counts as a meeting are all on this page.
We're hiring a salesperson. Do we still need this?+
It runs with or without one. A salesperson needs people to talk to: we find the companies and write to them, and they take the interested replies.
Could this burn my domain's reputation?+
Your main domain sends none of the cold email. That goes from separate domains we set up with SPF, DKIM and DMARC, at low daily volume. Only the win-back emails go from your own inbox. Any campaign pauses if bounces go over 3%.
How do you run LinkedIn?+
Through Salesforge, the same tool that sends the email, connected to your LinkedIn account. Connection requests and messages go to the same people as the emails, at conservative daily limits we agree with you, and replies land in one inbox. LinkedIn can restrict accounts it thinks are automated, which is why we keep the numbers low. If you'd rather not connect your account, we write the messages and you send them yourself.
Is cold email legal where my buyers are?+
We only email where the rules allow business email without prior consent: the US, UK limited companies and LLPs, and companies in Ireland. Each email goes to a work address, is about the person's job and says who it's from. Opt-outs are applied within one business day, and we sign a data agreement with you before anything goes out.
Who is this for?+
B2B companies with 5 to 80 people, at least three paying customers and 2,000 or more companies they could sell to. One customer should be worth £15,000 or more a year to you. It's not for consumer brands, local services, medical or care recruitment, or companies that sell AI outbound.
Do you use AI?+
Yes, for research, first drafts and sorting replies. Kristers decides what goes out.
What happens if we stop?+
Within 10 business days you get a final report and everything that's yours. Then we delete the data we held for you and confirm it in writing.
